CANADA HAS PLEDGED TO SHARE ITS EXPERIENCE ON BILINGUALISM WITH CAMEROON, AS THE COUNTRY SEEKS TO PROMOTE BILINGUALISM AND MULTICULTURALISM
The audience took place at the NCPBM headquarters in Yaoundé on the 10th of December, 2018.The President of the NCPBM, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE was assisted by the Vice-President, OUMAROU DJIKA and the Secretary General, Dr. CHI ASAFOR Cornelius.
At the end of the audience, the Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E. Nathalie O’NEIL told reporters that they were honoured by the visit of the Director General for West and central Africa at Global Affairs, Canada. It is in this light that they are using the opportunity to visit a number of government authorities, to have a better picture of affairs in Cameroon, particularly in the crisis rocking the North-West and South-West Regions.
She said it was thus a good occasion to visit the Commission, with which Canada can share its rich experience in the promotion of Bilingualism. She added that her Country intends to support the NCPBM in achieving its missions.
H.E. Nathalie O’NEIL, however, pointed out that Canada’s role is not to seek solutions to the crisis, but to help Cameroon find solutions, by enabling the Country benefit from the example of Canada’s rich government machinery put in place in its different Provinces for the promotion of Bilingualism.
