CANADA HAS MADE KNOWN POSSIBLE AREAS OF COOPERATION WITH THE CNPBM
It was the third time H.E. Nathalie O’NEIL was visiting the NCPBM on Thursday, August 30, 2018. She was first guest at the Commission on the 27th of October 2017 and the 10th of April 2018, when she accompanied the Parliamentary Secretary of the Canadian minister of Foreign Affairs, MATT DeCOURCEY.
At the audience, the Secretary General of the NCPBM, Dr. CHI ASAFOR Cornelius gave an overview of the activities carried out by the NCPBM so far, and the level of the implementation of the June 2017- December 2018 Plan of Action.
The Canadian High Commissioner, accompanied by her adviser, Mrs. Rosalie Graveline, asked to be briefed on the Benchmarking Mission carried out by the NCPBM to the Swiss Confederation in June, so as to tailor a similar mission to Canada.
She also outlined some of the possible areas of cooperation Canada can engage with the CNPBM. These include cooperation with the Department of Canadian heritage, Exchanges with the new minister of official Languages Francophonie, and the Commission for official Languages. The NCPBM could also have discussions with the team responsible for the Canadian Gazette and other officials of programmes related to Bilingualism and Multiculturalism.
The NCPBM President, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE was thankful for the list of possible areas of cooperation, that would eventually benefit the Commission.
